Then concentrate on one of the focal points but only as long as you feel comfortable concentrating . . . . Then switch back to the music Then back to the focal center Don’t try to focus too long . . . . Or try to learn to learn this or any new relaxation technique too quickly . . . . Simply choose a pace of learning that’s just unreasonable enough . . . . To be very, very satisfying . . . . Knowing that you can be just uncertain enough about learning a new skill . . . . And just insecure enough . . . . to become very good at it . . . . and slowly become aware you’ll have to live with being just impatient enough . . . . to let your impatience serve as a motivator to learn this useful skill . . . at a rate your unconscious mind finds reasonable . . . . or won’t you? and you may discover the sensation . . . . of no sensation . . . . that’s been in your hand . . . . a pleasing numbness . . . . that you didn’t notice . . . . until now . . . . which has been replaced now . . . . with everyday, usual sensations comfort . . . . as your hand begins to feel more like your own again. so take a short while . . . which may seem like a long while . . . . and just notice . . . how the world around you . . . . fades from …
